Shallow Water, Clear Marsh, Redfish You Can See Before You Cast
Captain Aaron poles the 18-foot New Water skiff into the backwater marsh where bigger boats cannot go. The water is clear and shallow. You are standing on the bow looking for fish before you make a cast.
When the conditions are right, the redfish back in the protected marsh develop a deep golden and copper color you do not see anywhere else. The higher salinity and clear water does something to them. You spot the fish, you present the bait, and then you hold on.
Slot reds or bull reds depending on the day and your preference. Year round availability, conditions permitting.
